Neighborhood Action Team
The Neighborhood Action Team (NAT) was established in February of 2002 and was originally established under the Community Development Block Grant to combat inner city crimes of violence and gang activity. Duties also include many nuisance crime and problems brought to our attention by the neighborhood watch groups. The main focus of patrol is north of 26th Street to the Bayfront and East Ave to Cranberry St.
The NAT Team works closely with the Weed & Seed Program, which also targets the same areas. The NAT Team is comprised of six officers, all which are members of the Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT). They carry their SWAT gear on the street with them at all times, making them available for immediate response to any critical incidents that arise.
